This custom Smart Car rim accessory was designed and fabricated for an application where an off-the-shelf component wasn't available.
The finished accessory was fabricated specifically for this installation and intended to integrate with the existing wheel without requiring modifications to the rim itself.
Designed Around the Existing Wheels
Rather than starting with unlimited design freedom, the wheel, mounting features, and available clearances established the boundaries for the project. Those existing dimensions determined how the accessory could be manufactured and how it would interface with the surrounding assembly.
